Booties, Fleece leggings and Denim ~ what a combo

Today's weather was pretty iffy, expecting rain, black ice, snow later in the day and then back to rain.  What to wear on days like this?  To add to the mix of the day, I was going to be all over campus today for meetings, lunch etc and wanted to wear something comfortable but still professional and if it could also be a bit stylish ~ awesome.

I am wearing a denim shirt by Levi stolen from my husbands closet under a grey pull over vest from Jones New York.  My skirt is from Dress Barn and my tights are actually fleece lined leggings from Label shopper. peeking out of my booties you can see wool socks.  The scarf which is my favorite infinity scarf was a gift from my sister from Calvin Klein.

  

Pink, Pattern and flats OOTD

Today started "rough" and included me falling and ruining my intended outfit.  Because I had to rush and change quickly just threw together this outfit.

On my Toes, I am wearing a pair of blush pink flats with a rosette detail on the toe from Jessica Simpson, My black skinny dress pants are from Lane Bryant my turtle neck and shirt are both from Dress Barn

I topped it off with a mix of Lia Sophia Jewelry, heirloom and Wal-Mart and an off brand Black skinny belt.

Have you ever had a day that started off so bad that it could only improve?  The upside is I ended up with a really cute outfit and got loads of compliments all day about the pairing.  What do you do when you are in the midst of a fashion emergency?

Black and Tan OOTD with Animal Print

Today's outfit consists of High price / Low price items, layered together for a sharp office look.


Not shown is a cream turtle neck purchased from Dress Barn, layered under a black long sleeve sweater with waist detail and matching knit belt from JCPenney.  The tan skirt is from the Gap and tights are from spanks.  My shoes are Anne Klein and scarf is from Wal-Mart.  Jewelry is a mix of Lia Sophia and heirloom pieces from my Aunt Janice.  This is my first time wearing this combination and have received loads of compliments so will be using this outfit as a go too for rushed days.

Can an object carry bad karma?

In my office building there is a rug, a very pretty rug.  This rug has been placed in several offices in the building and for whatever reason the person working in said office gets fired.  I personally think the rug has bad vibes but love the rug.  I actually am thinking of taking the rug for my bedroom at home but hesitate because don’t want to take the negative home with me…but then getting fired from a bedroom? What would that even look like?

To add to the bad vibes, I tried to add a picture of the rug to this blog, and cannot get the picture to post/add ~ Each time that I have tried, the screen freezes.



Weird, do you believe an object can hold negativity or not? and if an object can be holding a negative vibe, anyway to "clean" it?


I have since been able to get the picture to load.....

Bathroom Bomb, Bombed!

Hello Beautiful Friends:

 

I had the wonderful idea to make small gifts for my friends and researched to find the perfect little homemade thing...Bath bombs.  I wasn't able to get the ingredients together in enough time to put them together before the Christmas Holiday but did have time over the break to get them together for little gifts for the New Year...and they were a disaster.  What a huge mistake! I was so nervous about adding too much water that I didn't add enough so when they dried, they didn't stay together.  Right now I have yummy smelling sand. 

This is what they looked like drying in the pan...Funny Story ~ my husband walked through the kitchen and saw these sitting on the counter and licked them... I laughed so hard I cried and fell off the couch.  He clearly wasn't listening to me when I told him what I was doing and to not touch them on the counter....serves him right!  At least his breathe smelled nice for the rest of the day!

 

What I did end up making were quilts for my son and his friend who is staying with us.
