Wardrobe challenge, who’s in?

I read a few blogs and saw a few YouTube video’s about wardrobe challenges, I even tried it out a few months ago.  The concept is to pare down your wardrobe to 6 essential pieces and only wear those pieces for a month.  You are also free to add in Outerwear, athletic cloths and whatever accessories you like.  I lasted 24 days with 12 items. J Here are the pictures from my adventure.  If you planned to take the challenge, what would you choose? How would you pair them up? And how long would you last?

Above you can see what I selected (sort of)
Blue Shirt
Red Sweater
Blue Pattern dress
Animal print dress
Black/white skirt ( not in picture)
Black/White pattern top
Cream blouse (not pictured)

A shoe story, how high is too high?

Contemplating the height of shoes and professionalism, I always take the high road (pun intended).  If you can walk in them, you are good to go.  If you can’t walk in them ~ they are sitting shoes and if you have no meetings and can get away with it, wear them.   The higher the heel, the closer to god?  Today I am rocking a pair of heels in black/purple by T.U.K. Similar
My outfit is pretty plain, just a grey/black animal pattern skirt and grey sweater.  I added interest with a punch of color in my shoes and accessories to match.

Scarfs and Pins, adding pizazz to your outfit

A great way to add a bit of color, depth, and style to an outfit is to add accessories like statement necklaces, pins or scarfs.  When traveling I typically take only a bare minimum of clothing and mix/match to create outfits.  What I use to make them appear less like the outfit I wore yesterday is with my accessories.  Today I am rocking the most basic of long sleeve pull overs and matching pull on skirt (not shown) in gray.  The outfit is perfect for travel as both pieces work well together but can be matched up with other items.  The scarf was a Holiday gift but can be purchased at Amazon for $12.99 plus shipping.  The pin I used to secure the scarf was also a gift purchased at Wal-Mart during last year’s holiday season but you can use what you have.    You can see it in the 2nd picture, a small cheetah in black/white stones.
